In this guide we’ll explain how to connect PayPal with the Pronamic Pay plugin, to be able to accept payment with PayPal on your WordPress website. Support for PayPal is included in the Pronamic Pay Premium plugin that can be downloaded from your account after purchase.

How to connect PayPal with Pronamic Pay
Step-by-step guide to connect PayPal with the Pronamic Pay plugin.
- Install and activate the Pronamic Pay Premium plugin
After installing, you can create the PayPal configuration.

- Add a configuration for PayPal
Add a new configuration through Pay » Configurations and enter a title like “PayPal – [username]”

- Select PayPal as payment provider
Choose ‘PayPal’ from the list with payment providers. By default, the test modus will be selected. To be able to fully test the new configuration, we recommend to first test using this mode.

- Enter email address and save the configuration
Enter the email address of your PayPal account and publish the configuration, so it can be tested.

- Testing the PayPal configuration
After publishing the PayPal configuration, as ‘Test’ section will appear. Enter an amount and click the ‘Test’ button. If the configuration has been setup successfully, you will be redirected to a PayPal payment screen.

- Accepting live payments
Update to ‘Live’ mode and save the configuration.

Now that you’ve configured PayPal, you can connect it to e-commerce WordPress plugin like WooCommerce.
