How to set up renewal notifications for subscriptions

With the Pronamic Pay plugin it is possible to receive recurring payments in combination with multiple plugins. For example, subscriptions and memberships can be sold or periodic donations can be received. It is often desirable to announce the upcoming payment in advance. In this manual we explain how to set these renewal notifications for the following plugins:

  • Gravity Forms
  • MemberPress
  • Restrict Content Pro
  • WooCommerce Subscriptions

Add notification to Gravity Forms

To add a renewal notification to a form in Gravity Forms, follow the steps below:

  1. Go through WordPress admin → Forms to the form you use to sell subscriptions.
  2. Go to the form settings and choose 'notifications‘.
  3. Create a new notification, for example with the title 'Renewal notification'.
  4. Under 'Event', select the option 'Subscription renewal notification'. This event will be, just like 5 other events, added by Pronamic Pay and is carried out one week before the payment is initiated.
  5. Then fill in the notification as desired, such as sender, recipient, subject and the message itself. Merge tags can be used such as {pronamic_subscription_renewal_date} before the date of the renewal and {pronamic_subscription_amount} for the amount of the subscription.
  6. Save the notification, the renewal notification has now been created.
