Pronamic iDEAL 3.8

In the first month of this year we worked hard on a new version of the Pronamic iDEAL plugin. In this latest version, support for the membership 2 and Gravity Forms plugins improved. In addition, the plugin has been expanded with support for the ING Cash Register Complete solution. We've also made the plugin more abstract to make it easier to add new payment gateways. But also to remove obsolete and expired payment gateways in the future.

This post contains a summary of the most important changes in Pronamic iDEAL 3.8.

membership 2

In principle, the Pronamic iDEAL plugin already had good support for the Membership plugin of WPMU DEV. The big update of version 3.4.4.3 nasty 4.0.0.2 and a name change from “Membership” to “Membership 2” unfortunately changed that. The WPMU DEV developers have changed the payment system in this version. We have now adjusted the Pronamic iDEAL accordingly and Membership 2 users can pay with iDEAL again.

MemberPress

In October 2015, Chris Lema wrote the post “The Best WordPress Membership Plugin of 2015“. In this post you can read how Chris went looking for the best WordPress membership plugin. Chris has tested 30 WordPress memberships for this and wrote a review for them. According to Chris, the MemberPress plugin currently the best WordPress membership plugin. And now the MemberPress plugin can also be extended with the iDEAL payment method. This also makes MemberPress a very interesting solution for the Dutch market.

Gravity Forms

Nowadays, more and more payment providers offer other betaalmethodes in addition to iDEAL. For example, with the ING Kassa Compleet solution you can also pay by credit card or bank transfer in addition to iDEAL. The Pronamic iDEAL connection to Gravity Forms has so far mainly focused on the iDEAL payment method. In version 3.8 this will change with a new Gravity Forms field 'Payment method'. With this field, visitors can indicate with which payment method they want to pay.

Charitable

The Charitable plugin is a fairly new WordPress plugin aimed at fundraising and crowdfunding. Users can easily set up campaigns with this plugin and get visitors to donate. A goal can be set per campaign and the plugin then keeps track of how much has been donated per campaign. In version 3.8, support for the Charitable plugin has been added, which means that all popular iDEAL payment providers can now also be used in combination with Charitable.

From Pronamic iDEAL version 3.7 it is possible to quickly set up simple payment forms without third-party plugins. Visitors could use these forms to pay their own defined amount. Very useful for setting up a donation form, for example. In version 3.8, administrators now also have the option to enter predefined amounts. For example, visitors can quickly donate € 10, € 20, € 5, € 100 or a self-defined amount.
