Pronamic Pay has been offering support for Rabobank payment services since 2012. Since spring 2023, Rabobank and Pronamic have effectively been business partners of each other to enable better payments for WordPress. As a result of the partnership, the ‘Pronamic Pay with Rabo Smart Pay for WooCommerce’ plugin has now been launched.
History of Rabobank and Pronamic Pay
For the first introduction of a Rabobank payment service within the Pronamic Pay plugin, we go back 13 years. In September 2011, Pronamic introduced support for Rabo iDEAL gateway. Over six months later, Rabobank introduced the ‘Rabo OmniKassa’ in March 2012. Pronamic Pay then immediately got support for this payment solution. In 2016, Rabobank introduced the iDEAL Professional gateway and in 2017 Rabo OmniKassa 2.0 was introduced. Both gateways were almost immediately supported by the Pronamic Pay plugin.
The support was developed and maintained by Pronamic from its own initiative. Through a license on the plugin, Pronamic was able to realise its support and further development.
Even with the rebranding of OmniKassa to Rabo Smart Pay, the support is unchanged. Although Rabo Smart Pay is a broader concept than just online payments. In fact, it offers a complete solution for business owners to receive all types of payments. Support for the Pronamic Pay plugin focuses on online payments from Rabo Smart Pay’s OnlineKassa.
All in all, Rabobank payment services and Pronamic Pay have been going together for many years and have proved to be a reliable link.
Partnering Rabobank and Pronamic
Since March 2023, Rabobank and Pronamic have officially been partners of each other. With this, Pronamic is now one of Rabobank’s official business partners. This shows that Pronamic knows Rabobank’s payment products well and we regularly discuss how we can improve services. The cooperation has already led to several results in one year. For example, it is now possible for Rabobank to measure through which software a payment is processed. This gives them a considerably better insight into which software is frequently used.

That also brings us to the launch of a Pronamic Pay plugin specifically for Rabo Smart Pay and WooCommerce. The partnership of Rabobank and Pronamic allows it to be offered in the official WordPress repository.
The plugin makes it easier for Rabobank customers to use Rabo Smart Pay in combination with the WooCommerce webshop solution. Thus, Pronamic Pay with Rabo Smart Pay for WooCommerce can be easily installed from within the WordPress website. Within the plugin, the ‘Refresh token’ and ‘Signing key’ of a Rabo Smart Pay can be entered. This establishes the link and allows the active payment methods to be integrated within WooCommerce.
