The new iDEAL 2.0 and Wero have frequently been in the news in recent months. An initial website for Wero has now been launched. This new website can be found at https://wero-wallet.eu/ and contains some basic information about Wero.
Eventually, Wero is set to replace the current iDEAL in the Netherlands. Wero is expected to be adopted by banks in Belgium, Germany, and France later this year. The transition from iDEAL to Wero in the Netherlands could take until 2026.

It is not yet clear whether Wero can be integrated into WordPress websites, just like iDEAL. To the question “What is Wero?”, the new website states the following: Wero aims to become the go-to payment app for both consumers and merchants throughout Europe. It will be seamlessly integrated into the apps of the banks affiliated with EPI. Additionally, there will be a dedicated mobile app for Android and iOS.
EPI will launch Wero in Belgium, France, and Germany in mid-2024, followed by the Netherlands, with plans to expand to other European countries in the coming years. Bronnen
